Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how intrasec ("intrasec," "we," "us," or "our") uses, or more accurately does not use, cookies and similar tracking technologies on intrasec.ca.
This policy applies to the intrasec.ca website. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers the full scope of how we collect and handle personal information.
What are cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and collect information about how you use a site.
- First-party cookies are set directly by the website you are visiting. They are typically used for functionality such as keeping you logged in or remembering your language preference.
- Third-party cookies are set by a domain other than the one you are visiting, for example by an advertising network or analytics platform embedded in the page.
- Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
Similar technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags, local storage, and browser fingerprinting can be used for comparable purposes. This policy covers all such technologies, not just cookies.
Our approach
intrasec.ca does not set first-party cookies. Specifically:
- No analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, or any other analytics platform that tracks individual visitor behaviour across sessions.
- No advertising or tracking cookies. We do not embed advertising networks, retargeting pixels (such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads tags), or cross-site tracking technology of any kind.
- No preference cookies. We do not store user preferences or personalization data in cookies because we do not offer personalized experiences that require it.
- No session or login cookies on public pages. The public-facing intrasec.ca website does not require you to log in, and we do not issue session tokens or authentication cookies to visitors.
All fonts, stylesheets, and scripts used on this website are hosted locally on our own servers. We do not load assets from Google Fonts, jsDelivr, Cloudflare CDN, or any other third-party content delivery network that could set third-party cookies or track requests.
Hosting & infrastructure
Like all websites, intrasec.ca is served through a web hosting provider and may pass through network infrastructure including content delivery or DDoS protection services. These providers may, at a network level, set strictly technical cookies as part of their normal operation, for example to route requests efficiently, distinguish humans from automated traffic, or support security protections.
Any such cookies are:
- Strictly necessary for network and security operations.
- Set by the infrastructure provider, not by intrasec.
- Transient, typically lasting only for the duration of your session or a very short fixed period.
- Not used to identify you individually or to build any profile of your behaviour.
We do not control or have access to data collected by infrastructure-level cookies, and we do not use that data for any purpose. If you wish to know the specific cookie practices of our hosting infrastructure, please contact us through our contact page and we will provide details about the providers currently in use.
Managing cookies
Because intrasec.ca does not set cookies itself, there is nothing for you to opt out of on our end. However, you can control cookies at the browser level regardless of which websites you visit.
All major browsers allow you to view, block, and delete cookies. Instructions for the most common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. Because we do not track visitors in the first place, our website does not need to respond differently to a DNT signal; your privacy is protected regardless of whether you have DNT enabled.
Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce cookies or similar technologies to this website, for example if we add an analytics tool or a client login area — we will update this policy before doing so and will clearly describe what is being set, why, and how long it persists. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date.
Your continued use of our website after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
